As MCMC continues to work to deliver high quality disaster case management to the clients we have been asked to serve, we also continue to advocate on behalf of the project as a whole. For example, we were recently asked to share information about the MCMC project, and some of the data we have collected, with members of the congressional delegation from MS. The opportunity to speak of the impact that MCMC has made, not only on the state of MS, but also its impact on the National conversation related to recovery, is a tremendous honor and responsibility. I applaud you all for your continued diligence to your work, and ask that you continue to be diligent as we move forward. I also want to alert you to the fact that you are likely to hear more discussion concerning travel trailers, mobile homes, hotels/motels, and also transitional rental assistance programs in the coming weeks. We know that there are deadlines being discussed as they relate to the occupancy of travel trailers and other temporary housing units within the states of MS, LA, and AL. MCMC will continue to keep you as informed as we are about these deadlines and what they will mean for the clients we serve. There may be questions asked of you by the media related to these topics. My only word of advice is to speak of the things with which you are armed with facts. It does none of us any good to speculate about things at this point, and we certainly do not want to contribute to rumors that inevitably confuse all of us, AND our clients. Please feel free to be in contact with MCMC leadership if you have questions or concerns related to media inquiries. One thing we know: as summer approaches, we will once again be dealing with a plethora of issues and factors that will impact our daily work. Finally, I want to encourage you all to have a productive and blessed week. Encourage your clients to work with you as you attempt to guide them along the path of recovery. Blessings, Stephen |
